“At first people refuse to believe that a strange new thing can be done, then they begin to hope it can be done, then they see it can be done–then it is done and all the world wonders why it was not done centuries ago.”
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Like Miranda Hart, in her new book (left) (which I’m loving, BTW – #watchTVSitcomMirandafirst !), “I haven’t been entirely honest with you”. I’ve been quiet for some time, laying low, squirrelling away busily. And I’ve not blogged a word for ages!
Needless to say, life has been happening #IRL despite my absence online.
So, how’s tricks? What’s the craic? Wassup?
While you weren’t looking, I …
… started a professional doctorate in Psychology at the University of London (Sept 2023). Last autumn (Sept 2024), I passed into my second year (still pinching myself).
I now work as a ‘Psychologist in Training’ doing F2F 1-2-1 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with actual humans, working for an NHS Mental Health Trust.
This is REAL, peeps!
We also on 18th December 2024 …
DRUM ROLL!!!!!!!
… exchanged contracts on the sale of our longed-for house in Fulham! That means = deposit paid, contracts signed, legally tied in, this-is-actually-happening!
I. Know. Right??!!! Three. Years. And. Four. Months. After. Making. The. Offer!
You cannot write this stuff, peeps!
Hubby and I are beyond excited to start nesting. Meanwhile, there is a bit of a wait until we complete the purchase. And as the flat we are renting is now sold, we will be nomadic again from 30th January.
“Such fun!” (to quote from the TV Sitcom, Miranda, again ;))
SMALL PRINT:
P.s. IRL = in real life.
P.p.s. Watch out for my next series of blogs in which I regale you on what I’ve learned about getting a good night’s sleep – not the same as a previous sleep blog.

Wonderful!!!
